Apple Oatmeal “Woof”ers

13 Apr

I plan to take Oscar to Three Dog Bakery during my next trip to Pasadena.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with this wonderful shop, Three Dog Bakery is the go-to place for oven-baked goods made with all natural, quality ingredients for your pets. Their products are free of preservatives, artificial flavors, fillers, refined sugars and salt. Love it!

Fortunately, you don’t have to live within driving distance to enjoy their treats. A handful of Three Dog Bakery products can be found at your local Walmart and Walgreens. I usually avoid purchasing dog food and treats at local retailers, but I made my merry way to Walmart to see if I could actually find wholesome treats for Oscar in the doggie aisle.

Sure enough, there they were.

Woofers Box

I picked up a box (13 oz.) of Apple Oatmeal “Woof”ers. The ingredients list? Zero salt, refined sugars, article flavors, fillers and preservatives!

  • Wheat Flour
  • Honey
  • Canola Oil
  • Rolled Oats
  • Applesauce
  • Cinnamon
  • Whole Egg
  • Molasses
  • Vanilla
  • Baking Soda
  • Baking Powder
  • Natural Preservative (Citric Acid and Natural Tocopherols) To Maintain Freshness

The cookies smell so good. My mouth was watering. If they’re made of all natural ingredients, does that mean I can eat them, too? That way I could comment on its taste and texture…

The verdict? The Apple Oatmeal “Woof”ers get Oscar’s paw of approval!

That sound like a great treat for your doggie – make sure he earns it! No treats for just being cute … okay maybe one. But I like the fact that it’s made from all natural ingredients! No refined ingredients, and nothing people can’t pronounce. You should look up how to make homemade ones! It’s probably really easy, and you’d most likely have some of the ingredients lying around already!

You should post some incredibly healthy DIY dog treats on your food blog! Maybe it can be something humans can enjoy, too! Maybe…

I LOVE the name of those treats…Woofers. They’re a great size too, not too big, not too small. Okay, Oscar might think they’re too small. 🙂

The ingredient list is great…have you ever tried making homemade treats? We posted a homemade pumpkin dog biscuit tutorial on our blog and they turned out great! Gus loves them. 😀

Yes, I’ve been toying around with the idea of making Oscar some homemade treats. I checked out the Get Lick’d pumpkin cookies on your blog. They look like a snap to make! I’ll have to whip up a batch once I find some time. I’ll let you know how they turn out. Thanks for the tip!
