Stop, Drop and Roll

15 Apr

One of Oscar’s favorite pastimes is sniffing out something stinky (not poop, thankfully) in the grass and rolling it in.

On the stank hunt.

Oscar Rolling

Gotcha!

Oscar Rolling 2

Nothing like a good roll in the grass!

The strangest thing I’ve caught him rolling in? An earthworm. It had no chance.

An Earthworm? … ew… that’s possibly worse than him eating an earthworm. ><

Oscar flopped on the poor thing multiple times. I can’t imagine being that small and having all that weight on me (no offense, Oscar). It didn’t stand a chance!

Gus LOVES to roll in stinkbugs! Luckily it’s not poop…but stinkbugs are just about as bad! I just want to squeeze Oscar’s cute belly in these photos!

My parents’ dog lives on a farm, and she loves to roll in wild animal poo and dead things . . . so I guess Oscar, as a city pup, is just doing the best he can. : ) So far I’ve managed to avoid having Toki roll in anything too stinky, but one time she smelled a big dead bug on the sidewalk and without out warning, practically dove onto it to roll herself in the smell.

Oh no! I can’t imagine anything dirtying Toki’s beautiful, luxurious coat.
